Over production of thyroid hormone = higher metabolism
Is your cat: Does your cat:
Drinking more Have Diarrhoea
Always Hungry Have a poor coat
Aggressive Have weight loss
Anxious
Vomiting
Hyperactive
Passing Urine in larger amounts
Hyperthyroid is very common in elderly cats – 10% of cats over the age of 10 years are affected.
It has a negative effect on kidneys, heart, but also other organ systems if left uncontrolled for too long.
Yearly blood tests for cats over the age of 10 is advised to allow early detection.
